The garden with the statues

Summer in the seaside town. A large group of children live the joys of the holidays carefree, swimming, playing, changing secrets, words of love, news of the unknown world. Their favorite hangout, a flower garden with ancient statues, sheltered there as they are sent to the Museum of Sparta. The little friends had found them playing, buried deep in the sand, they had cleaned them, they had admired them; they loved them. They understood that they were coming from distant ancestors and their minds were running, dazzled, to them and to their art of beauty. They asked, they learned, they respected history and the homeland. The children, the statues, the sea, the carefree summer, the various events, the dreams of tomorrow, the life in the quiet city, the songs from the cafes and the boats, the sailors related to the news of the sea, but also the acquaintance of all with the sacred face of the homeland that radiated simplicity and beauty of soul, they give to the book the joy and grace tasted by the lucky friends, to whose company the author also belonged.
