The Queen of the Night instructs Prince Tamino to save her only daughter Pamina, who is being held captive by the tyrant Zarastro. He takes Papagenos with him as an assistant, a forest man who looks like a bird. The two of them will go through the strangest trials to complete their mission. Will Pamino manage to come back safe with his beloved? And as for Papagenos, will he find the match he craves so much?
A tale about the magic of love and friendship, based on the opera of the same name by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in a libretto by Emanuel Sicanender.
The CD contains the narration of the fairy tale and a selection of excerpts from the original music of B.A. Mozart, recorded by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Joseph Keliberth.
